도예학과 김대용 교수가 세계적인 패션 하우스 생로랑(Saint Laurent)과 협업하여 도자 컬렉션을 선보이며 디자인계의 주목을 받고 있다.

이번 프로젝트는 생로랑 리브 드루아(Saint Laurent Rive Droite)와 로스앤젤레스의 대표적인 오마카세 레스토랑 ‘스시 파크(Sushi Park)’의 셰프 피터 박(Peter Park)이 함께하는 ‘SAINT LAURENT SUSHI PARK PARIS’ 콜라보레이션의 일환으로 진행되었다.

김 교수는 이번 협업을 위해 생로랑의 미니멀한 미학과 셰프 피터 박의 정제된 요리 철학을 담아낸 도자 테이블웨어 시리즈를 제작했다. 이 컬렉션은 실용성과 예술성을 동시에 갖춘 작품으로, 파리의 생로랑 리브 드루아 매장과 YSL.COM에서 한정 수량으로 전시 및 판매되고 있다.

이번 협업은 단순한 브랜드 협업을 넘어, 동시대 도자예술이 럭셔리 디자인과 접점을 이루며 확장될 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고 있다.

김 교수는 “도자의 물성과 미감을 통해 식사의 감각적 몰입을 높이고자 하였다”고 전했다.

Professor Kim Daeyong from the Department of Ceramic Art at Seoul National University of Science and Technology has unveiled a ceramic collection in collaboration with fashion house Saint Laurent, drawing significant attention in the design world.

The project is part of the 'SAINT LAURENT SUSHI PARK PARIS' collaboration hosted by Saint Laurent Rive Droite, in partnership with Peter Park, the renowned omakase Chef behind one of Los Angeles' most iconic restaurants, Sushi Park.

For this collaboration, Professor Kim d a series of ceramic tableware that reflects the minimalist aesthetics of Saint Laurent and the refined culinary philosophy of Chef Peter Park.

The collection is on display and available in limited quantities at Saint Laurent Rive Droite Paris and on YSL.COM, merging practical functionality with artistic ｅｘpression.

This partnership goes beyond a typical brand collaboration, suggesting new potential for contemporary ceramics at the intersection with luxury design.

Professor Kim stated, “Through the materiality and aesthetic of ceramics, I sought to enrich the dining experience on a sensory level."
